Amid the uncertainty due to the Nation not sending the Teacher Incentive funds, the province of Salta modified the school calendar and established that the start of classes, which was initially scheduled for February 26, will be postponed to Monday the 4th. of March.
The resolution was taken after a request from the teaching unions to the provincial government and
affects the Initial, Primary and Secondary levels,
both in public and private establishments.
"We have made the decision to extend the school year and
move the start date of classes from February 26 to March 4
," announced this Wednesday afternoon the Minister of Education, Science and Technology of Salta, Cristina Fiore.
The official also reported that the decision was made due to the proposal made by some unions and unions about the situation of uncertainty in issues such as the Teaching Incentive, connectivity and the minimum, living and mobile wage.
The Higher Level will, however, maintain the scheduled start date of Monday, March 11.
The Teacher Incentive funds are sent by the national government to the provinces and are used to pay supplements to the salaries of teachers and professors.
The Nation, in a bid with the provinces after the failure of the Omnibus Law, did not transfer this money, which is why Ministers of Education from all over the country expressed concern about the lack of transfer to the Secretary of Education, Carlos Torrendell.
On the other hand, the national government made official this Wednesday the call to the teaching unions for the national joint meeting of the sector that establishes the salary floor.
It was just a week after Milei was against a call of this type since he - he said - was not willing for the State to set a minimum level for salaries.
