"Preliminary signs" indicate that "there is the possibility of advancing a new agreement for the release of the hostages".
Israeli War Cabinet Minister Benny Gantz said this after the stalemate of recent times.
“We will leave no chance unturned,” he added, “to bring them home. No stone will remain unturned in the effort to bring home those who were abducted on October 7.”
According to the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat which cites diplomatic sources, "there is progress in the talks between Egypt and Hamas on the hostage agreement. Hamas has softened its positions and Egypt is working to obtain similar flexibility with the Israeli delegation that will arrive in Cairo in the next few hours".
Media, at least 67 Palestinians killed in Gaza last night
Israeli attacks across Gaza killed at least 67 Palestinians between last night and today.
This was reported by international media including the Guardian and Sky News.
The deaths occurred in some areas where civilians had been told to seek refuge.
The Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital in Deir al-Balah said it received 44 bodies after multiple attacks in the center of the Strip, media reported.
'Sinwar said he had Hezbollah's commitment to expand the war to the north'
From the new documents that the IDF found in Khan Yunis, it emerged that the leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, was sure that Hezbollah would open another front in the war with Israel in the north: "We have received the commitment that the Axis will participate in the great 'liberation project'".
The Ynet website reports this, explaining that the plan of the Palestinian faction was that of a war on two fronts.
"Sinwar did not limit himself to wishing it to be this way but he built a plan in this direction by claiming to have received a commitment on the matter", writes the Israeli website: from the documents found by the army it emerges that "Sinwar wrote to his men" of having "received the commitment" from the Shiite Iran-Hezbollah Axis.
In other documents, the leader of Hams in Gaza reiterates the commitment received, "according to which the action in the south will lead to a parallel action in the north, for which Hezbollah is preparing with the slogan 'conquer the Galilee'".
But in the end - adds Ynet - the ayatollahs of Tehran and Hassan Nasrallah "disappointed Sinwar".
Egypt in The Hague, 'Israel is violating international law'
The argument that Egypt has begun to make before the International Court of Justice in The Hague against Israel, after the presentation of a memorandum, is very harsh.
"The Israeli occupation is a clear violation of international law" - said Yasmine Moussa, legal advisor to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry - and not self-defense", "the Palestinians have been subjected to punishment for 75 years" and "Israel denies the right of Palestinian people to self-determination", for which Egypt has submitted a request.
Israel - continued the representative of Egypt in The Hague - "continues to commit massacres in Gaza and imposes a policy of siege and starvation", also preventing the sending of aid to the exhausted Palestinian population.
Furthermore, it "clearly intends to isolate Palestine and weaken its authority" and has for years hindered "the movement of Palestinians in the Al-Aqsa Mosque", "imposing all kinds of restrictions on them" and attempting to "illegally bring about demographic change in Jerusalem" .
Among the accusations against Israel is also that of "acquiring Palestinian land by force" even before the conflict, this too "in violation of international law", a practice which Egypt is determinedly calling for an end to.
Finally, the Egyptian representative also cited the UN Security Council, which "has repeatedly failed to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip".
