"Sometimes bad things happen to good people," writes Idit Kovalio, an Israeli who decided together with her partner to invest their savings in a property abroad, in order to get a good return, but unfortunately, even though they did everything right - things progressed a little differently than they had hoped.

"I Don't even know if it's a scam, but the bottom line is that even though we checked and did our homework, the result is bad.

We are not rich.

We are just another middle-class couple trying to take care of their children's future," continues Idit in a post she published on her private Facebook page, "so we took savings and wanted to invest them in a property abroad to get a good return, we checked recommendations, we wanted an Israeli company that our friends had already worked with And we flew to Madrid, excited and wide-eyed."

"We paid everything on time like good children, and everything went well. However, after the property was renovated, apparently one of the renovators duplicated the key, changed the lock, and "rented" the property to Peruvian immigrants."

"Unfortunately," Idit continues, "only later did it become clear that the law in Madrid says that after 48 hours they cannot be evicted from the property. So it turned out that right now, in addition to our small and cute family, we are reluctantly supporting another Peruvian family who is literally living at our expense. No, there is no We have the option to finance another family. In the meantime, we are also obligated to pay for the electricity and water. The Spanish law is very much not in favor of the apartment owners."

In the conclusion of the post, Idit wishes to warn other Israeli couples and investors, and asks for help from people who have come across similar stories: "So why am I writing this in front of everyone? To warn about investing in real estate in Spain.

Invasion of apartments is a widespread and dangerous phenomenon.

In addition, if any of my contacts come across such a story, I would love to connect to get help and ideas for solutions.

And I know there are worse problems than these.

Thanks for the fact that we are all safe and sound."
