A huge sinkhole suddenly formed this Wednesday, February 21, in the middle of a road in Naples, Italy, around five o'clock in the morning.
The hole, which is practically the width of the cobblestone street, swallowed up two cars.
One was parked, the other was driving at the time of the incident.
Two passengers were on board the vehicles.
Slightly injured, they were able to be extricated from the sinkhole with the help of firefighters and soldiers.

According to local authorities, the accident was caused by a ruptured pipe under the street.
“The sewer collapsed and the water supply pipe was broken,” explains the municipality of Naples in a press release published on its website.
The basements of two buildings were flooded and one building was evacuated, local media reported.
