In Triggiano, in the province of Bari, a new strain of Xylella has been identified, renamed 'Xylella fastidiosa fastidiosa': this was confirmed to ANS by the regional councilor for Agriculture, Donato Pentassuglia.
The variant was found on six almond trees and the laboratory analyzes already carried out confirmed the diagnosis yesterday.
Today the Agriculture Department will sign an order to cut down the infected trees and new analyzes will be carried out on the plants within 800 metres.
