Roberto Cavalli's iconic animalier leaves room for a new distinctive pattern: marble, with all its veins, shades and colours.

The creative director Fausto Puglisi has in fact decided to be inspired, for the autumn/winter 2024/25 collection, by the well-known polychrome stone blocks of the most particular varieties, from Pontoro characterized by gold flakes, to the red one up to the emerald Irish Green.

In the collection everything is light and at the same time solid, like the polychrome marbles of Renaissance churches.

"I started from an obsession of mine, which has been constant since I was young, ancient marble. I love collecting ancient marble - explains Puglisi - I started from an element that is decidedly rigid, a stone, and I wanted to transform it into something extremely Cavalli. I wanted to translate marble, which is the quintessence of Italianness, into lightness."

Here then the new iconic Cavalli pattern is translated into an infinite variety of veins: there is the black and white Grand Antique marble typical of the villas of Pompeii (printed on the very light oversized duvets and in the day bag in marbled paint), the marble Portoro which, characterized by small flakes of yellow gold on black or vice versa, conveys its baroque opulence in devoré velvet skirts (to be combined with the blouse in black leather or printed with polychrome marble inlays).

Then there is the stretch sheath dress in devoré fabric with chenille islands on black tulle, in the burgundy tones of red marble or the emerald ones of Irish Green.

There is no shortage of precious pleated hoods with photographic marbles printed on velvet and chiffon.

Finally there are the classic cut-out evening models, the very sensual leather miniskirts with bark pleats, the elegant trouser suit with the sculpture jacket.

Satin is the fabric chosen for the sexy bias-cut petticoats, but the iconic garment is the new version of the dressing gown, a must-have of the season according to Cavalli, created starting from the shapes of the pleated bark kimono.

There is also a lot of velvet in the collection, a tribute to Venice that recalls the oriental ornaments of Constantinople.

It is used for bag-cut tunics.

Even the accessories are 'marbled', for example the Roar Bag is offered in marbled reptile while the flat shoes called "Pettegole" are in many colors with the most beautiful veins.

Among the guests of the show also the singer Alessandra Amoroso.
