Three teams from Nigeria and one from Congo.

This is the picture of the semi-finalists of the Viareggio Tournament, or Viareggio Cup as it is now called, a competition which, for more than 70 years, has been a true 'classic' of youth football.

Which, it must be said, with the passage of time has become increasingly internationalized up to today's reality with the domination of African teams, also the result of a physical superiority which, at these levels, appears evident.

Thus, after the quarter-finals played today, the semi-finals of this 74th edition of the tournament will feature four African teams.

In fact, in the semi-finals on Saturday at the Pozzi di Seravezza stadium, in the province of Lucca, Beyond Limits-Ojodu City, two Nigerian teams, are scheduled, while in Santa Croce sull'Arno Center National Brazzaville, a team from Congo, and the Nigerians will face each other of the Mavlon.

As for the quarter-finals, six foreign teams took part (five African and one Hungarian) and two Italian teams.

Beyond Limits beat Torino 2-1, while the Hungarian Honved lost 4-0 to Ojodu City.

The representative of the Italian Serie D had to surrender, 4-3 after penalties, to the Congolese team of Center National Brazzaville (the match ended 0-0).

Mavlon beat Alex Transfiguration 2-1, another Nigerian club who were finalists two years ago, losing to Sassuolo.
