Nahal Rosh Pina, which runs under the southern slopes of Mount Canaan, invites us on a journey through time between a village and a settlement with clear springs and spring blossoms of almonds, and all this with the impressive scenery of the Hula Valley and the Golan in the background.
In the heart of the blooming wadi are the remains of a historic stone road that was used by the people of the old settlement of Safed, when they decided to settle there in 1878. Eliezer Rokah and a handful of Jewish families from the Safed Land Workers Association left the protected Jewish urban settlement Safed, to settle among the Arabs in the village of Jeoni, which would later be called Gay Uni and later - Rosh Pina.
"The magical wadi of Rosh Pina allows us two options for a trip," explains Shimi Binyamin, director of training at the Sde Golan school of the Society for the Protection of Nature. Spectacular matter.
In both cases, the tour will begin and end at the cemetery of the old colony (search on WAZE: Rosh Pina Cemetery)".

What do you do and how do you travel?
We parked in the parking lot of the settlement's cemetery, from there we went up the wadi on the black marking to the sound of the springs which connect together and gradually become the Rosh Pina stream.
The first spring we will reach is called by the locals "Ben's Cheap", and it is actually a rectangular pool that was established in memory of the late Ben Oren at the head of a corner by his parents - Akiva and Nega Oren.
After that, we will continue to go up parallel to the course of the stream until we reach the next spring, "Ein Kadan", named after the Hakadan flower that blooms here from February to April. A few more minutes of walking up the wadi and we have already reached the third spring, "Ein Pina", which supplies water to the Rosh Pina colony and its water is very good. From there we will continue up the path and reach the last spring for the day - "Ein Gay Oni", a stone structure from which the spring water bursts. Here it is recommended to take a break in the shade of the ancient fig tree and decide if you want to continue the circular route or go back down the wadi back to the car.
In winter there is a great flow in the place.

Did you choose the long route?
Well done!
From here you will continue to climb a few hundred meters and you will reach the intersection of black and green paths.
We will turn right and enter Derech Nof with spectacular views of Ramat Korizim, the Sea of Galilee and the route we followed.
After a kilometer of walking, on the Korkar road, we will reach a split of green and blue paths where we turn blue, which will lead us down the mountain to "Mitzpe Nimrod" named after the late Nimrod Segev who was killed in the Second Lebanon War, with an amazing view of the Hula Valley and the Golan.
From Mitzpe Nimrod We will go down the road and turn right into the streets of the old city, on the way we will pass by the ancient synagogue of Rosh Pina, which was founded in 1885 by settlers from the first aliyah, abandoned in the 1950s, renovated and preserved along with the rest of the old street in the 1990s To the right of the synagogue there is a set of stairs with which we will go back down to the wadi to park at the cemetery, back to the car.
Important highlights: Both options for the trip in the wadi are suitable for families, with the circular option being more suitable for families who are good at walking, in addition to the route there are several water crossings that, due to the recent rains, are a little more challenging , so it is recommended to come with closed and waterproof shoes. Keep the flowers protected so that others can also experience this beauty. You must take any waste with you.
