The selections of the Italian chefs competing at Girotonno - Fairs and Events are underway

The selections of Italian chefs are now open for participation in Girotonno, a gastronomic event celebrating Mediterranean bluefin tuna scheduled from May 30th to June 2nd in Carloforte, on the island of San Pietro, in Sardinia.

Applications must be submitted by April 21st.

The event is organized by the Municipality of Carloforte with the collaboration of the Feedback agency.

Girotonno celebrates its twentieth edition this year.

For the new edition, an online contest will choose the team of national chefs who will compete with other countries in the new edition of the Tuna Competition, the international competition between chefs, the highlight of the event.

To participate in the selections - a note informs - you must be a professional chef, invent a recipe based on bluefin tuna, take a photo and upload it to the girotonno.it website, where it is also possible to consult the regulations.

The recipes competing for the "chef scouting" will be subjected to the vote of two juries and each will draw up its own ranking: a popular jury (web surfers who will vote on the Girotonno website) and a technical one, made up of journalists and cooking experts and chaired by Roberto Giacobbo, journalist, popularizer and host of Freedom.

The two winning chefs will become part of the Italian team participating in the Tuna Competition 2024. The technical jury will evaluate all the applications received, regardless of the number of votes received online.

His judgment will be based on 5 factors: enhancement of the product, technique, beauty and choreography, narrative structure/storytelling and curriculum.

The Municipality of Carloforte will cover the travel and accommodation costs for the participation in Girotonno by the two winning chefs.
