The four votes in favor of the amendment on the third mandate for governors presented by the Northern League members in the elections bill belong to the League and Italia Viva, while the 16 against are from FDI, FI, UDC, Pd, M5S, Avs, one abstention is from SVP while Action did not participate.

The commission continues with the vote on the amendments.

In the morning, the League had withdrawn the amendment for the third mandate of the mayors.

The proposal was opposed by the government.

The amendment concerns large municipalities, those with more than 15 thousand inhabitants.

"Vote for Parliament, let's move on. Vote for Parliament, they won't listen to it", said the response to Agorà Rai Tre from the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini.

"If the constraint of the third mandate is not put in order, in the next two-three years we risk having an almost endless dispute between the central government and the Regions", fears the president of Liguria, Giovanni Toti, on 'Mattino Cinque'.

"The Constitution provides that the statutes and electoral laws are the exclusive competence of the Regions - he recalls -. I don't know if I will want to serve the third mandate honestly, we will see if there are the conditions to do so, if it is an advantage for my Region and for the my political majority. It is a decision that falls to the territories, the administrators of the territories and above all the voters."
