The Tokyo Stock Exchange has fully recovered since the bursting of the Japanese speculative bubble in the early 1990s: the main index, the Nikkei, has surpassed its all-time high, dating back to the end of 1989.
The Nikkei rose above 39,000 points, erasing its previous historical high during the session, reached on 29 December 1989 (38,957.44 points).
His absolute closing record (38,915.87 points on the same day) could therefore be beaten.
