Bank notes bearing the image of King Charles III will be put into circulation from next June in the United Kingdom, the Bank of England announced in a press release this Wednesday, February 21.

The new tickets will be printed gradually from June 5 “solely to replace those that are worn out and to respond to any overall increase in demand for tickets,” the press release further specifies.
And this, “in accordance with the directives of the Royal Household, in order to minimize the environmental and financial impact of this change”.

Visuals validated by the king

The general public will also be able to exchange a limited value of current or old notes for new Charles III notes, through the Bank of England, for a short period from the date of issue.
