New mission to Ukraine for the secretary of Action, Carlo Calenda, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Russian invasion.
Calenda - we read in a note - just over a year after the first visit in December 2022, will be accompanied by the deputy secretary of Action, Ettore Rosato, and will be in Kiev from today where he will have a series of institutional and diplomatic meetings.
Among other things, the Action leader's agenda includes a meeting with Alexander Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Anna Yurchenko, Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.
In the early afternoon he came face to face with Oleksandr Merezhko, president of the parliamentary foreign affairs commission, with numerous OGS and with Visvaldas Kulbokas, Apostolic Nuncio in Kiev.
The following day, the anniversary of the Russian invasion, Calenda and Rosato will visit the hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs where they will meet the director of the facility, the medical and nursing staff and visit the wounded Ukrainian soldiers hospitalized.
Subsequently they will take stock of the situation regarding aid to the Ukrainian population by meeting, at the headquarters of the Italian cooperation in Kiev, representatives of WeWorld, Albero della Vita Foundation, Cesvi, Red Cross, Soleterre, Terre del Hommes Italia.
"I return to Ukraine to reiterate my closeness to the Ukrainian people who fight for their freedom, which is also the freedom of Europe and the West", observes Calenda.
