The Court of Rome rejected the appeal advanced by the Prosecutor's Office which questioned the correctness of the first full transcription, carried out by Mayor Roberto Gualtieri on 9 June last year, relating to a foreign birth certificate with two mothers.
"It is a sentence which, in addition to confirming that the path we have taken is the right one", says Marilena Grassadonia, coordinator of the LGBT+ Rights Office of Roma Capitale.
During the proceedings, Roma Capitale intervened to support the reasons of the two mothers and the correctness of the Mayor's actions as Civil Registrar.
