The life sentence for Giampiero Riccioli, the Syracuse restaurateur accused of the double murder and the suppression of the bodies of two carers, Alessandro Sabatino, 40 years old, and Luigi Cerreto, 23 years old, is final.
The Supreme Court of Cassation declared inadmissible the appeal brought by the defenders of the accused against the sentence of the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Catania of 12 July 2023, which had already confirmed the first degree sentence of the ancestral prison.
The two victims disappeared in the spring of 2014, a few days after arriving in Syracuse to respond to a job advertisement published by the accused to care for his elderly father in his villa.
The bodies of the victims were found buried in the accused's villa years later.
