The commitment of the Department of Public Security "has always aimed at guaranteeing the maximum exercise of freedom of demonstration and at the same time ensuring the necessary protection of sensitive objectives present on the national territory".
The Department states this, underlining that the clashes in Florence and Pisa with the demonstrators "bring to light the operational difficulties of managing, during public order services, possible moments of tension caused by the failure to comply with the provisions adopted by the Authority or by the failure to warn or share the initiative by part of the organizers".
Today's episodes, he adds, will constitute, "as always, a moment of reflection and verification on the organizational and operational aspects connected to the numerous and diversified types of initiatives, which determine the daily use of thousands of law enforcement operators".
