EPP president Manfred Weber said this while speaking at the FI congress.
"Do we really want to destroy all this as the AFP wants to do? Do we want to leave it in the hands of the Le Pens who supported Putin after the occupation of Crimea by Russia? I'm tired of being taught lessons by them: the populists say they love their nations but they are Putin's puppets".
"We don't play with citizens' fears like the right does - he continued - we focus on the economy and security".
