A Reddit user ordered several pizzas from delivery services and was surprised at the size.
Is the undersized pizza delivered a case of fraud?
Munich – If you don’t have time to cook yourself in the evening, you often order something to eat.
If the food doesn't arrive as ordered, your good mood is over.
Or is it even fraud if the order that arrived is incorrect?
Possible case of fraud: Customer receives pizzas from the delivery service that are too small
When you order food from a delivery service, a contract is concluded.
By placing an order, the customer undertakes to pay the amount due.
The delivery service, however, must prepare and deliver the order.
If the condition is not met by one party, it is a breach of contract - but when does this occur?
A Reddit user was extremely dissatisfied with his pizza orders.
Another customer used the same delivery service 633 times a year.
As he wrote in his post, the Reddit user only gets small pizzas delivered, even though he ordered and paid for large ones.
“I ordered several times from 4 different delivery services via Lieferando and always received 28-29 cm instead of the 32 cm I paid for.” For the Reddit user, things seemed clear: “It feels like this has been going on for a year now.
For me, this is fraud.” The post has already received over 1,200 upvotes and more than 500 comments.
A majority of the other users were on the pizza customer's side.
“The missing space is crazy” – Reddit users support pizza customers
A Reddit user calculated how much pizza the customer actually lost due to the delivery being too small.
“The lack of space is blatant.
In comparison between 28 and 32 cm, that's almost 25% pizza that is constantly being cheated away here.
That's one for every 4 pizzas free for the pizzeria." Another user also found that it was a scam, but doesn't expect a positive reaction from the delivery service: "They'll definitely say that it's an 'unfortunate mistake' or the person you're talking to will kindly refer you to other delivery services.”
However, Reddit users all agreed that something like an ad wouldn't pay off: "The courts are so overloaded, they would reject the whole thing because it's insignificant." The only solution after calling the delivery service would probably be "a 1 Star rating on Google.
At some point he'll think twice about it." One user had a very simple idea: "That's exactly why I make pizza myself.
Really good ingredients for €4 and real 32cm.” A supermarket customer complained to a pizza manufacturer and fell on his face.
