“The Jacques Doillon affair”
continues to tear French cinema apart.
The actress Nora Hamzawi, in support of Judith Godrèche, has just said that she takes a dim view of the upcoming theatrical release of
CE2
, a film by Jacques Doillon in which she plays an important role.
The actress notably declared on the social network Instagram:
“The release of the Jacques Doillon film in which I starred four years ago is maintained.
This decision constitutes contempt for the words of women.
What is happening in the cinema sector, and which I hope extends to other sectors, is essential and important.
This is the priority thing to support today
. ”

This position of the actress did not please the famous artistic agent, Dominique Besnehard. In a comment published on Facebook, the latter regretted that the release of a film could be postponed indefinitely after
“problems linked to the denunciations of JG (Judith Godrèche)”
.
He accompanied these words with an unkind judgment on Nora Hamzawi's stage skills:
“She is not the actress of the century.
I can tell you that the weak point of the film is the interpretation of this actress who does not want the film to be released.
Besides, I didn't understand how Jacques Doillon, who always had an eye for actors, could have chosen this bad one
.
While waiting for Bruno Pesery, the producer of Jacques Doillon's film told AFP his desire to see it soon in theaters:
"After consultation with all the partners who supported the initiative and carried out the production of the film CE2, written and directed by Jacques Doillon, we have made the decision to confirm its release date, scheduled in France for March 27, 2024
.
The latter, however, did not forget to clear himself of the Doillon affair, adding:
“It is important to us that this decision is not received as the expression of deafness or indifference with regard to the accusations brought against its author: they are serious, we took stock of them from the first hour
.
