You need these ingredients for the bread dumpling casserole with pointed cabbage:
50 ml cooking oil
80g onions, cut into strips
150g brown mushrooms, sliced
200 g pointed cabbage, cut into strips
1 garlic clove, minced
0.5 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 pinch of nutmeg, ground
100 ml white wine, or a non-alcoholic alternative
300 ml whipped cream
8 bread dumplings, sliced

Preparation is so easy:
Preheat the oven to 200 °C top/bottom heat.
Heat cooking oil in a pan.
Season the onions, brown mushrooms, pointed cabbage and garlic with salt, pepper and nutmeg and fry for about five minutes, stirring occasionally.
Deglaze with white wine and whipped cream and cook for another two minutes.
Spread the bread dumplings evenly in a baking dish and cover with the fried vegetables.
Place in the preheated oven for 35 minutes.
Serve on plates and garnish with chives to taste.
