Thousands of Israelis took to the streets in Tel Aviv to protest against the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and demand the release of the hostages.
The police declared the protest illegal and reported arresting 19 demonstrators, Haaretz reports, according to which the police used water cannons to disperse dozens of demonstrators who attempted to block the road.
Meanwhile, about a thousand people are marching with torches from the president's residence in Jerusalem to a square in the center of the city demanding the release of hostages and elections.
