If Joe Biden wins "the worst is yet to come".

Donald Trump stated this in his speech to the American Conservative Conference, based on excerpts released by Axios.

Calling himself a "freedom fighter", the former president says: "The unprecedented success of the United States will be my absolute revenge."

Joe Biden and his "henchmen have trapped you on an express train to ruin. A vote for Trump is your ticket to freedom, your passport out of tyranny, and your only escape from Biden's fast lane to 'hell".

Donald Trump says this, based on extracts from the speech he will give at 7pm Italian time at the Conference of American Conservatives.

"Four years ago I told you that if Biden won our borders would be destroyed, our middle class decimated and our communities overwhelmed by crime. And as they say: Trump was right about everything", adds the former president, as reported by Axios.

South Carolina on the ballot.

Polling stations in the state are open from 7am local time and will remain so for the entire day, until 7pm (1am on Sunday in Italy).

Polls indicate an easy victory for Donald Trump, ahead of his rival Nikki Haley by more than 30 points.

The former ambassador is thus heading for a resounding defeat at home: South Carolina is in fact her state, the one of which she was governor.

While hoping for a miracle, Haley knows that the vote is one of her last chances to stop Trump's bid for the nomination.

For now, she has reiterated several times that she does not intend to give up at least until Super Tuesday on March 5th.
