Service allowances for family members received illicitly, expenses for benefits linked to unauthorized company cars, reimbursements for the organization of events and dinners which in reality would not have been organised: the ministerial inspection ended with at least three complaints, carried out by order of the Defense General Staff, on General Roberto Vannacci, when he held the position of military attaché in Moscow.
Corriere della Sera writes this on its front page, explaining that the report has already been sent to the military and ordinary prosecutors in Rome.
According to the newspaper, the final information highlights "critical issues, anomalies and tax damages in the self-certifications and refund requests filed" which according to the inspectors "must be evaluated by the judicial authority".
Three chapters highlighted.
The first concerns "the self-certifications by virtue of which General Vannacci received the service allowance abroad which, as is known, is attributed on the basis of the actual presence of dependent family members in the foreign office".
But inspectors dispute that Vannacci's wife and daughters were actually in Moscow while the money was paid.
The second chapter concerns parties and dinners.
Also in this case Vannacci presented the list of expenses incurred but in the report it is written: "It appears that General Vannacci would have requested and obtained reimbursements for expenses incurred improperly to organize convivial events for the 'Promotion of the Country of Italy' at restaurants in Moscow rather than at your home."
Finally, again according to the newspaper, a possible tax damage (the dossier was entrusted to the Court of Auditors) was contested for the use of the company car, a BMW: 9 thousand euros would have been spent without justification
