In the worlds of mind-fullness there is an expression that says that we must not let our enemies live in our minds without paying rent.

An American guy took it one step further - and managed to live for 4 long years not only in the mind of his enemy, but also in the hotel he owns, without paying a single dollar.

According to the New York Post, who first published the article, the story began in June 2018. A 48-year-old man arrived with an invitation to stay for one night at the New Yorker Hotel in Manhattan.

The next day, when he was supposed to check out and go on his way like any normal person, he asked the hotel to give him a rental agreement for the room, while noting the municipal law that sets a uniform rent for renting single rooms for six months.

that's where I suspected.

When the hotel refused, he took it to court, appealing the ruling that denied his request to the New York Supreme Court, which eventually agreed with him and gave him ownership of a single room.

During all this time, as mentioned, the guy continued to live in his hotel room.

Allegedly, a year later, in May 2019, the guy submitted fake documents and asked to go further and transfer the ownership of the hotel to himself, claiming that the previous judgment that granted him a room in the hotel was in fact his acceptance of the ownership of the entire hotel.

According to the "New York Post", the guy then even managed to convince officials at the municipal finance office that he was the real owner of the hotel.

Later, in 2022, the real owner of the hotel managed to obtain a court order prohibiting the guy from claiming to be the owner and submitting more false documents, and the guy finally left the hotel.

However, as you've already come to know our guy, he doesn't give up so quickly.

These days he is accused of violating the order by submitting additional false documents in April and September of last year, when he again tries to transfer ownership of the hotel to himself.

While he maintains his innocence, he is due back in court in early May 2024.
