The secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, paid homage to the victims of the Cutro shipwreck on 26 February last year by going to the beach in front of which, in the "San Leonardo" area, the loaded gulet "Summer love" crashed into a shoal of migrants, with the death of 94 people, 35 of them minors.
Schlein, together with the fishermen who were the first to intervene on the spot, placed a cushion of flowers on the beach, then gathered in meditation.
The secretary of the Democratic Party remained silent throughout the tribute, avoiding answering journalists' questions.
