An argument between a passenger and a flight attendant on an Indigo flight/photo: Twitter
A viral video showing cockroaches in the kitchen of one of the "Indigo" planes - an Indian Lowcost company - made it admit that there are indeed cockroaches in its planes and ordered the immediate disinfection of its entire fleet.
The 20-second video was posted on the X Network (formerly Twitter) by journalist Tarun Shukla and shows at least two cockroaches crawling around the inside of an airplane cabin storage area.
The context of the video is unclear and it has no sound, so it is not known if the plane was mid-flight or on the ground.
At the very beginning of the video you can see at the bottom what looks like some food waste.
At this time, it is not known which aircraft it was on, but it is most likely an aircraft from the Airbus A320 fleet, which makes up the majority of the airline's fleet.

The company: "The video shows an unclean corner of one of our planes"
IndiGo took responsibility for the sanitary failure and immediately announced that it would disinfect its entire fleet of aircraft.
The incident raised questions about standards of cleanliness inside IndiGo's planes - a subject that has raised criticism about the cleanliness of its planes in the past.
Hygiene in the kitchen area and the storage of food on airplanes is especially important for the safety and health of passengers - worryingly, the area where the cockroaches were found could have been the place where the meals are stored before being served.
In a statement, the airline said, "We are aware of a video circulated on social media showing an unclean corner of one of our aircraft. Our staff immediately took the necessary actions in the aircraft cabin. As a precautionary measure, we immediately cleaned the entire fleet and carried out disinfection procedures. At IndiGo we adhere to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene to ensure a safe and hassle-free experience, and we regret any inconvenience caused to passengers."

Not the first time there are cockroaches in Indigo
IndiGo has faced complaints about unsanitary conditions on its planes in the past.
In an incident last April, a passenger on an Indigo flight filmed a cockroach crawling onto his tray table while he was eating.
And earlier this month, an IndiGo passenger allegedly found a screw in his sandwich, while another passenger discovered a worm inside his vegetarian sandwich, ultimately prompting an apology from the airline.
The Indian airline industry has been working hard to improve the passenger experience, with many complaining about poor customer service and conditions on planes and at airports.
IndiGo was involved in another incident this month, after a Paralympic athlete claimed the airline mistreated her during a flight, even damaging her wheelchair.
