"It is still impossible to establish the vital and functional prognosis" of Alberth Elis, the Honduran striker of Bordeaux hospitalized after a bad blow to the head during Saturday's Ligue 2 match against Guingamp.
This was announced by his own French club.
According to the Girondins, the player, "the victim of a head injury", underwent "surgery during the night" at the Pellegrin hospital centre, where "he remains in an artificial protective coma".
Bordeaux therefore expects not to be able to communicate new information for a few days and will not make further comments on Alberth's state of health. We ask for moderation in the dissemination of medical information, out of respect for him, his family and the people close to him, at a time where nothing else is more important. A psychological unit will be quickly established to support the club's employees in these difficult times."
