The illegal parking of electric scooters continues to be a problem in all Italian cities, but the initiatives launched in the area to educate users of these means of transport and avoid improper use by users have borne fruit, reducing the rate of recurrence of illicit conduct.
This is stated by Dott and Consumerismo No Profit, who against the phenomenon of wild parking of electric scooters launched an innovative project called "Consumerismo Monitor" last year in Milan, Rome and Padua.
"In the three cities where the experiment started, compared to almost 11 thousand incorrect parkings which led to the sending of an alert on the smartphones of scooter users, Dott only raised 1,364 sanctions (recidivism rate with 2 infringements at 12.4 %) and the suspended Dott accounts were just 130 (recidivism rate with 3 infringements at 1.18%). The numbers demonstrate how the project has produced the desired effects, leading thousands of scooter users to acquire greater awareness about the correct methods of parking vehicles, proving that the combined approach "first education and then sanctions" reduces incorrect behavior and almost completely eliminates cases of recidivism" - say Dott and Consumerismo.
