More bad weather in Italy due to a new Atlantic disturbance which will arrive in the North in the next few hours, in particular on the western side, and will gradually extend to the North Eastern regions too, where there will be widespread rainfall and heavy snowfall, initially at hill levels.
This was indicated by a weather alert from the Civil Protection.
From the early hours of Monday 26 February, therefore, thunderstorms are expected in Piedmont and Liguria, subsequently extending to Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Veneto.
The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, possible hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.
Snowfall is also expected above 400-600 meters in southern Piedmont and the bordering Ligurian hinterland, above 600-800 meters in the remaining sectors of Piedmont and in Lombardy, Trentino and Veneto, with moderate to heavy amounts of snowfall on the ground.
Yellow alert for hydrogeological risk has also been assessed for Monday in Liguria, lower Piedmont, northern Lombardy, western Tuscany and large sectors of central-western Emilia-Romagna.
