There will be no 'duel' between Angelina Mango, winner of the 74th Sanremo festival, and Loredana Bertè at the Eurovision Song Contest scheduled in Malmoe, Sweden, from 7 to 11 May.

'Una Voce per San Marino', the event which for the third year has decreed the Titan's representative at the international competition, last night surprisingly graduated a band born in Madrid in 2015, Megara - Kenzy (singer), Rober (guitar), Vitti (bass) and Ra Tache (drums) - with the song '11.11'.

Their style is defined as 'fucksia rock', where the 'ck' is desired, and they narrowly achieved victory over Bertè, who revived 'Pazza' and was the big favorite on the eve.

After being contacted by the event organisation, San Marino Rtv and Media Evolution, to participate among the Bigs, she had to settle for the press prize and that of the Italian Eurovision fan club.

The ranking, which also brought La Rua from the Marche region to the podium - winners of the award for the most radio-friendly song with 'Il governo del cuore', created with Dardust - was decided by a jury of experts chaired by the composer and record producer Celso Valli and which also included Anna Bischi, wife of Ivan Graziani.

Only tenths were Jalisse, who after hosting Sanremo 27 years after their victory with 'Fiumi di parole' proposed 'Paradise is here'.

There was much criticism on social media for Bertè's failure to win (10,000 likes on the performance post on her Facebook page) and for the organizational problems that arose during the live TV broadcast hosted by an irritated Fabrizio Biggio and Melissa Greta Marchetto, while the comments they are divided between those in favor and those against the Eurovision ticket assigned to the emerging Megara, who will however have to overcome the semi-finals to access the final evening, a stumbling block against which both Achille Lauro hit in 2022 and the Tuscan Piqued Jacks last year.

Among the 17 competitors also Marcella Bella, Pago, Corona and Dana Gillespie, who in '73 played Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar by Lloyd Webber and Rice.

Superguest Riccardo Cocciante.

The Secretary of State for Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati, was satisfied: "artists from 36 countries participated, 350 came to the Republic to compete".

The regulations stipulate that applications can come from all over the world and the songs can be in any language.

And so this year San Marino speaks Spanish.
