Bad injury in the match between Betis of Seville and Athletic Bilbao valid for the 26th matchday of the La Liga.
This is what assistant Guadalupe Porras Ayuso was involved in in the 13th minute,
in the action that allowed Avila to score the temporary 1-0 for the Andalusian hosts in the 'Benito Villamarin' stadium.
Running along the sidelines along her own area of competence, the assistant referee collided with a camera and injured her face.
Porras Ayuso was helped by medical staff and then left the playing field to reach the ambulance at the stadium.
The cameraman, however, was first reprimanded by referee Cuadra Fernandez for having got too close to the pitch, and then sent off for continuing to film despite the incident.
The race, however, was interrupted for a few minutes before resuming.
The photo of the bleeding assistant referee was posted on the Instagram account of the Gazzetta dello Sport and sparked a series of shameful sexist comments with very heavy replies.
'Go back to the kitchen', 'Certain accidents don't happen in the kitchen', 'The camera will be accused of feminicide' to name just a few.
