Prof. Idit Matot at the opening of the new surgery complex "Kissofim" in Ichilov/Lior Tzur, Ichilov Spokesperson
The late Daniel Yehuda Yaakovzon
lived all his life in Tel Aviv and worked as a successful lawyer. Over the years he was treated with devotion in the various departments at Ichilov, where he also passed away at the age of 94. Yaakovzon was never married and had no children, and shortly after his death the hospital was informed of his inheritance of NIS 50 million for the establishment of a new department. Next week, the new surgical complex will open at a cost of approximately NIS 100 million, financed from the estate's funds and with the participation of the state.
"We realized that we must build more operating rooms to shorten the long queues," says
Prof. Roni Gamzo
, director The hospital, who said that at first they thought about adding 2-3 operating rooms, but finally decided to go for something bigger. "We actually established a new department that is like a small, separate hospital," adds Gemzo, "Those who come here do not go through the other departments at all .
Here he is admitted for treatment, here he is operated on and from here he is also released to his home on the same day."
Maximum sterility.

In the new complex, ear and tonsil surgeries for children, weight loss surgeries, knee surgeries, hernias, cataracts and more will be performed.
"These are surgeries where in the past the patient would have to stay in the hospital," says
Prof. Eidit Matot
, who championed the establishment of the complex.
"Now, with the help of pre-surgery preparation and continued treatment at home, we release the operated on the same day. People who come for a specific surgery prefer to recover at home and not stay in the hospital."
The operating rooms were built according to strict international standards, in order to prevent infections.
For example, the huge TV screens that show the course of the surgery from four different cameras, sunk into the wall.
So are all the required furniture items that were built-in inside the walls in order to maintain maximum sterility.
The operating rooms are also equipped with lighting and sound systems, with the choice regarding the type of music to be played and the nature of the lighting being determined by the patient.
The new complex will be called, in the spirit of the time, "Kissofim", and the complex next to it, which was built about 7 years ago, was named "Raim".
With the addition of the new surgery complex, Ichilov will become the hospital with the largest number of operating rooms in Israel - 43 in total.
