The anger is not falling in Spain either.
Catalan farmers will lead a blockade at the border between France and Spain from Tuesday until Wednesday, reports France Bleu Roussillon.
As a result, “the movement of light vehicles and heavy goods vehicles will be impossible at the Franco-Spanish border on the AP-7 and the A9 in both directions,” detailed the Aude prefecture in a press release.
“The end time of the movement is not known at this stage but it could last 48 hours,” added the department prefecture in a press release cited by France Bleu Roussillon.

Users traveling on the A9 towards the south will have to exit at Leucate (Aude) then take the secondary network.
The prefectures of Aude and Hérault are calling for people to “adapt” their “travel” and to be “cautious”.
Heavy goods vehicles will, for their part, be prohibited from using the secondary network and will remain blocked on the motorway, continues France Bleu Roussillon.

“We are going to try to cut the border so that Europe reacts,” explained a union official quoted by the Spanish media Cadena SER on February 20 to justify blocking the border.
Like their French counterparts, Catalan farmers are particularly opposed to unfair competition from certain countries and are demanding a change in the balance of power during price negotiations with large retailers, explains El Periódico de Catalunya.
