It will be an often rainy week, at times disturbed and with still a lot of snow in the Alps. All the fault of a cyclone that is stationed in Italy and which will affect the weather for many days.
This is what Antonio Sanò, founder of the website www.iLMeteo.it, announces.
"At least until Wednesday 28th - he states - the cyclone will stay between Sardinia and the Tyrrhenian Sea, causing a wave of rain, especially in the Centre-North. From Thursday, when the vortex moves towards the South, it will rain again in the southern regions, but a new disturbance is expected in the North."
The first days of the week will therefore be characterized by widespread rain and local thunderstorms throughout the north, in Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Sardinia and locally also in the Marche.
In the South, however, the weather will be sunnier thanks to the warm Scirocco winds.
The snow will fall again across the entire Alpine range: initially it will be abundant up in the valley close to the borders and above 7-800 meters elsewhere, then from Tuesday the limit will rise, reaching an average of 1200-1300 metres.
The weather will continue to remain very unstable throughout the week.
Finally, on Friday 1 March, a new worsening is expected in the Centre-North which will also continue for the first weekend of March.
The Sirocco winds will cause maximum values to rise to 20-21°C in the south, while the presence of rain will keep them around 10-14°C in the Centre-North.
It will only be winter in the Alps.
