"Today we mark a turning point in university accommodation, a priority issue for the Government".
Thus the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, on the Legislative Decree Pnrr 4 approved by the Council of Ministers, which provides for simplification measures for the creation of new beds.
The expected allocation is 1.2 billion.
"We have developed an ad hoc package dedicated to housing. The Council of Ministers accepted my proposal to provide for the figure of an extraordinary commissioner for university housing, an implementing body who will integrate the competences of the Mur, thus accelerating the creation of beds.
I will identify it already in the in the next few days this figure will also act as a liaison element with the other ministries, the Pnrr mission structure of the Presidency of the Council and the local authorities. A highly specialized entity that will coordinate housing policies through simplified procedures".
"Also today - added Minister Bernini -, upon completion of this package, the Mur published the notice to create the 60 thousand new beds foreseen by the Pnrr by 2026. It is an ambitious target, a challenge that we want to win. Finally
our country adopts a policy on university residences after years of slowness and delays".
