Bring spring into your home with colorful daffodils or hyacinths in pots.
If you treat the bulbs correctly, they will bloom again.
When it's still fresh outside in the first few months of the year, early bloomers in pots bring spring into the house.
These typically include bulb flowers such as tulips, hyacinths or daffodils.
If the pretty plants have withered, you don't have to throw the flowers away straight away - their bulbs can be used in the garden after they have bloomed.
Then they bloom again next spring.
However, this requires some preparation.

Unfortunately, bulbous flowers, such as daffodils, wither quickly.
The onions can then be used in the garden.

It's actually not easy for some bulbs to bloom again next year.

But it's definitely worth a try before the valuable onions end up in organic waste.
That's how it works:
Cut off spent flower heads and stems from potted plants.
Otherwise the plant wastes too much energy.
The leaves, on the other hand, initially remain on the plant because they provide the bulb with nutrients for the next flower.
If the leaves also turn yellow and wilted after about four to six weeks, remove the bulbs from the pot.
Knock off the soil and place it in an open cardboard box to dry.
Important: only store healthy onions.
Everyone else goes in the trash.
Please do not throw it into the compost, as plant diseases can spread from here in the garden.
If the leaves are finally completely dry, you can cut off the green.
The onions are then stored dry and cool until autumn.
Between September and November is the ideal time to plant the early blooming bulbs in the ground.
Then they sprout again in spring.

If you don't have space to store the flower bulbs, you can plant them directly from the pot into the garden.
These should be planted twice as deep in the soil as they are high.
Also make sure there is enough distance - according to

it should be at least one bulb's width.
If an onion consists of two parts, it is better to keep them together if they fit tightly together.
Even with this variant, the green leaves remain on the onion until they dry out.
