Ernesto Assante, historic journalist of Repubblica, a point of reference for Italian music journalism, has died in Rome.
He had recently turned 66 on February 12th.

Born in Naples in 1958, after collaborating with il manifesto he began writing for Repubblica, where he was a correspondent until 2021 and responsible for the supplements Musica, Computer Valley and Computer, Internet e Altro.
He directed McLink and Kataweb.
On TV he was a consultant and author of numerous programs, including Sanremo.
