The Israeli army (IDF) presented a plan to the war cabinet late last night for the evacuation of Palestinian civilians from the combat zones of Rafah, the southernmost city of Gaza.
This was stated by the Prime Minister's Office.
The IDF "has presented to the war cabinet a plan for the evacuation of the population from the combat zones in the Gaza Strip, with the forthcoming operational plan," the announcement said in Hebrew without providing any details on how or where the civilians will be transferred.
The Cabinet approved the provision of humanitarian aid to southern Gaza "in order to prevent looting".
