Low-carb onion cake: this is how it is prepared

  • Cut the butter into small pieces and knead them in a bowl with the almond flour, an egg and a pinch of salt to form a compact dough.

Grease a cake tin with a little butter.

Roll out the dough to about five millimeters thick and place it in the mold.

Press it firmly and keep it cool until further processing.

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat and cut the onions into small cubes.

Then sauté them in a little oil.

After putting the onions in a bowl, fry the bacon.

  • Put the ingredients for the icing - sour cream, eggs, milk, cream, salt and pepper - in a bowl and mix the individual products.

Then add the onion pieces and the bacon.

  • Mix the ingredients thoroughly and pour them onto the chilled dough base.

Then bake the onion cake for around 35 minutes at 180 degrees top/bottom heat.

You can then serve the tasty low-carb onion cake lukewarm.
