Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh ''has made his resignation available'' to President Abu Mazen.

Shtayyeh's announcement came at the beginning of the meeting of the Council of Ministers in which the prime minister described at length the gravity of the situation
created in Gaza.
''I think - he said, quoted by Wafa - that the next phase requires a reorganization in government and politics that takes into consideration the new reality in the Gaza Strip, the national unity talks and the need to reach an international consensus -Palestinian based on national foundations, on broad participation, on uniting ranks and on the extension of the PA's authority over the entire territory''.
