The public prosecution has requested a sentence of two years and 11 months in prison for the Russian dissident Oleg Orlov, former co-president of the Memorial foundation which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022. This was reported by the online newspaper Mediazona.
Orlov is accused of "discrediting" the Russian military under a gag law that effectively bans criticizing Russian troops' invasion of Ukraine.
