Two teachers from a nursery school in the province of Gorizia were arrested by the police as they were seriously suspected, in various capacities, of the crime of mistreatment of minors within the institute.
The investigations, which began in December 2023, were started following a report, addressed to the military, of repeated jogging by teaching staff against a child with a disability.
House arrest was ordered for the two teachers.
The soldiers of the Monfalcone Company carried out this morning the precautionary order, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Gorizia.
The measures come at the end of a complex investigative activity, conducted by the soldiers of the local echo station coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Gorizia.
After the initial testimonial information acquired by the investigators, at the disposal of the judicial authority, an investigation was carried out, especially of a technical nature, in the rooms where the pupils spend their time for educational and recreational activities.
According to the reconstruction of the investigators, the elements collected were able to document several episodes of mistreatment, carried out by the suspects almost daily towards the little girl, often even in front of other children.
The frequency and intensity of the alleged violence, both physical - in this case pushing, pulling and slapping - and psychological, with shouts, screams, reproaches, swearing and expletives, led the investigators to speed up the investigation activities and to make a request for a precautionary measure to the investigating judge, to obtain, as soon as possible, an examination of the investigative findings by the investigating judge, who confirmed the seriousness of the accusatory system, recognizing, among other things, the existence of the precautionary need for the danger of recurrence of the suspected mistreatment
