WhatsApp is introducing two new functions that are intended to protect user privacy and security.

There is also more privacy thanks to a recent update that was previously only available in the beta version.
Change in WhatsApp: This is how you can hide your online status from others
This time the change affects the online status.
It has long been possible for users to hide from other contacts the last time they were online.

reported, users can now protect their privacy with another function.
Until now, the online status was visible to everyone by default.
So anyone who just opened the app and wrote a message was marked as “online”.
Now this status can be hidden from other users or just certain contacts.
This is how changing the online status on WhatsApp works:
Open Settings
Select the “Data protection” section
Select “Last online/Online”.
Customize the tick box next to “Who can see if I’m online?”

If you hide your “last online” timestamp from certain contacts, you can also hide your online status from the same users.
But be careful: If no one can see that you are online, this information will not be visible to others either.

Images and videos can only be sent for one-time viewing.

Due to the WhatsApp innovation, it is no longer possible to take a screenshot of self-deleting images on the cell phone.
This function has been blocked.
If you try anyway, you will receive the following message: “Screenshot blocked.
Apparently you tried to take a screenshot.
For one-time viewing messages, this is not possible to protect privacy.”
However, this block cannot be implemented on the PC, which is why WhatsApp quickly deactivated the self-deleting messages for the desktop version.
It is still possible to take a screenshot of chat histories with messages that are deleted within a certain period of time.
