, which was able to see the documentary in advance, reveals an excerpt from the film, in which Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez discuss their separation 20 years ago.
In 2003, they got engaged a few months after meeting and called off the wedding shortly after, causing their separation in January 2004. It was the actor who seemed to bring the subject to the table, asking the singer to "we the floor” if she forgave him.
“I think I was angry with you for a long time,” she replies.
“But this heartbreak set us both on a path of self-discovery to become better people.
I think I've forgiven you all the way.
I think I need to forgive myself for some things.”
In the documentary, Jennifer Lopez says she called off their 2003 wedding because they "crumbled under the pressure," according to

“Catastrophic” breakup
The two actors look back on their post-breakup lives, which director Dave Meyers describes as "catastrophic" in the documentary.
Jennifer Lopez says: "During all those years, it was really difficult, because I didn't just feel like I had lost the love of my life, I felt like I had lost the best friend I ever had.
And I couldn't speak for so many years, that was the hardest part."
Ben Affleck, for his part, blames media pressure, among other things, for his breakup with his current wife: “When Jen and I broke up before, the catalyst was the enormous surveillance of our private lives.”
The documentary is available from this Tuesday, February 27, 2024, on the Prime Video platform.
