In 2024, young people celebrating their 18th birthday can once again be particularly happy.
You receive financial support from the federal government.
The corona pandemic was nerve-wracking, restricted people's everyday lives and destroyed many leisure opportunities.
One group was particularly affected by this: young people and adolescents.
Instead of experiencing an exciting time with friends during puberty, home schooling and a safe distance were often the order of the day.
In order to make these difficult times somewhat forgotten, the federal government launched the Culture Pass in 2023 and extended this measure in 2024 - albeit under different conditions.

But what exactly does the Culture Pass actually represent?
All young people born in 2005 who celebrated their 18th birthday last year received a credit of 200 euros from the federal government after registering with the free app.
This year it is the turn of young citizens born in 2006 who will celebrate their 18th birthday in 2024.
This affects around 750,000 people, explains the federal government in a press release.
However, the amount of the credit has been halved to 100 euros.
According to Chip.de,
the reason for this is
the general budget situation of the federal government.

The money paid out is not freely available to the young people, but rather should be used for cultural purposes.
With the campaign, the federal government would like to support not only young people but also organizers and cultural workers who have also suffered extremely from the pandemic.
These include, among others:
Concerts
festivals
Museums
theatre
Cinemas
Operas
Record stores
Bookstores

The Culture Pass is valid from March 1, 2024. After the young people from the 2006 class have registered using the online ID function, their budget will be activated and can be redeemed by the end of the year.
There is good news for young citizens who were eligible for the credit last year.
If you have activated your budget by December 31, 2023, you can still use it in 2024.
