The cyclonic vortex has arrived and will strongly influence the weather throughout Italy during this week.
According to the forecasts of Antonio Sanò, founder of the website www.iLMeteo.it,
until the first weekend of March it will rain several times
due to the presence of a cyclone which will move from the Ligurian Sea towards Sardinia, the Tyrrhenian Sea and then reach Sicily, and then abandon Italy.
On its journey the vortex will hit more or less all regions with precipitation
, will activate intense winds from the southern quadrants (the Scirocco), will cause storm surges with waves up to 3-4 meters high on the exposed coasts and will still cause intense snowfall in the Alps.
Until Wednesday morning, it will be above all the Centre-North that will be most affected by rain and thunderstorms.
Snow will fall heavily in the Alps on average above 1200-1300 metres, at lower altitudes close to the borders.
From Thursday 29 February rain on the two major islands, on Calabria, on the entire central-southern Adriatic coast and on Emilia Romagna.
From Friday and over the weekend, while pressure will begin to increase in the South with the return of more stable and sunny weather, two more disturbances are expected in the North and in part of the Centre.
In detail: Tuesday 27. In the north: widespread bad weather, snow at 1200-1300 metres.
In the center: bad weather in Tuscany, Lazio, Sardinia and Umbria, better elsewhere.
In the south: lots of clouds, but dry with mild weather.
Wednesday 28. In the north: more widespread rain in the morning.
In the centre: it gradually worsens strongly in the Adriatic Sea and eastern Sardinia.
In the south: worsens in Sicily and Calabria with thunderstorms.
Thursday 29. In the north: rain in Emilia Romagna, but still in all regions by evening.
In the centre: bad weather on the Adriatic and eastern Sardinia, showers and clear spells elsewhere.
In the south: bad weather in Sicily and Puglia.
Trend: further deterioration on Friday and over the weekend.
