The lawyer Rodrigo MarinhoCrespo was killed late on Monday afternoon with ten shots fired on Avenida Marechal Câmara, in the center of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, in front of the firm of which he was a partner.
The homicide division of the civil police is talking about an execution.
According to the first testimonies collected, in fact, the murderer - with his face covered by a balaclava - got out of a car and before firing called the victim by name.
The location of the ambush is located near the headquarters of the Brazilian Bar Association (Oab) and a few meters from the offices of the prosecutor's office and the public defender.
In a statement the Oab spoke of "dismay" at the incident and expressed its condolences to the professional's family and friends.
The National Association of Criminal Lawyers (Anacrim) defined the ambush which took place in broad daylight as "an affront" caused by the "certainty of impunity".
"It was done to insult the legal profession," said the president of Anacrim, Flavio Fernandes.
