The former Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who disappeared from public life since June and then sensationally removed from office after about 6 months, has resigned as a deputy of the National People's Congress, the legislative branch of the Chinese parliament which will hold its session next week its annual meeting.
We read this surprisingly in a statement from the Congress Standing Committee, relaunched by Xinhua, according to which Qin "has not been removed or expelled".
Furthermore, his resignation as deputy was accepted by the Tianjin People's Congress from which he had been nominated.
At present, no one knows the whereabouts of the former minister.
