, a series in which he played the polymorphous Klingon villain Kol, Canadian actor Kenneth Mitchell died on February 24 at the age of 49 as a result of a neurodegenerative disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
The actor's family announced the sad news in a press release published on Instagram, specifying that the actor had been ill since 2018:
“Ken had suffered from sclerosis for five years.
With his courage and his grace, he fought to try to live in a universe of joy
