Preparation of the sponge cake without eggs

  • Preheat the oven to 200 °C top/bottom heat.

Take a loaf tin and grease it with a little margarine.

Alternatively, you can also line the form with baking paper.

Tip: Moisten it with water, squeeze it out well and then put it in the mold.

  • Mix the sugar and soft margarine in a bowl.

Mix the ingredients with a hand mixer until creamy.

Gradually pour in the milk - stir again and again.

  • Mix the baking powder with the flour.

Optionally, you can sift the flour mixture.

Then stir it into the liquid sugar-milk mixture.

The dough should end up well mixed and smooth.

Optionally, you can now also stir the rum flavor into the dough.

  • Pour the dough into the cake tin and put everything in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.

  • Use the chopstick to check whether the cake is ready.

If the cake gets too dark for you, place some aluminum foil over it.

  • If you like, you can decorate the cake once it has cooled.

It doesn't matter whether it's powdered sugar, a chocolate or a lemon icing.

If children eat with you, sprinkles, chocolate beans or fruit gum are certainly also delicious.
